Bilateral prominent ear correction is usually done under local anaesthetic. The procedure involves an incision behind the ear. The cartilage is re-fashioned. You will need to wear a head bandage for a week after surgery. During this time you should be quiet and not too active. You can usually return to work after a week, but ears will still be red and inflamed. The two ears will probably not be exactly symmetrical.
