Home » Ear Correction
Bilateral prominent ear correction is usually done under local anaesthetic.
The procedure involves an incision behind the ear. The cartilage is re-fashioned.
You will need to wear a head bandage for a week after surgery. During this time you should be quiet and not too active.
You can usually return to work after a week, but ears will still be red and inflamed. The two ears will probably not be exactly symmetrical.
As restrictions have eased a little, I am happy to be able to see patients again. Clinics are opening at the One Hospital Ashford and the Chaucer Hospital in Canterbury.
Waiting times for new consultations may be longer than usual but I am working on this. Surgery space is still restricted as the NHS still has the use of the private hospitals. However things are changing all the time.
